PSP Lagos arrests youth for breaking into residences and commercial establishments

The District Command of Faro reports that last Friday 10th March, the Lagos Police Station, arrested a Portuguese citizen, aged 16, on suspicion of several thefts inside the residence and in commercial establishments.

This arrest came following the investigation started a few months ago initiated by the Lagos Criminal Investigation Brigade to stop an activity of robberies in residential areas and in the historic centre of the city, which occurred in the night and dawn.

The PSP believes that the detainee, despite his young age, was the leader of a group of other young people, some evenyounger, who also participated in several thefts.

Police said several seizures had been made, and several articles were recovered from victims, including vehicles and keys, computers, mobile phones, documents and bank cards, which were often used for subsequent withdrawals of money, among other articles.

The detainee was present before the Judicial Authority, having been detained in preventive custody.

With this detention the District Command of Faro believes to have contributed to the improvement of the security feeling of the residents and merchants of the city of Lagos.
