On 27th July the Criminal Investigation Unit (NIC) of GNR Portimão attested a citizen aged 38 years for drug trafficking.
After locating the existence of a cannabis plantation at a site in Salema, Vila do Bispo municipality, the military conducted surveillance managing to identify the person responsible who was tending the plants at the time.
After arresting the person responsible for planting, the GNR seized 56 cannabis plants, which were in two separate locations, one adjacent to housing and the other in the annex to that residence, which was a “laboratory” of cannabis production.
During the operation it was found that the annex had all the elements necessary to a control the cultivation of plants, including amplifiers / current transformers, lamps with reflectors and LED lamps, a ventilation system (fan and tubes ), a spray, pH meters and controllers, as well as clocks and various fertilizer products. This allowed all year round production.
Thus, in addition to the seized plants whose dimensions ranged between 60 cm and 1.80 m in height, the operation resulted in the seizure of 1100 grams of dry leaf saltiva cannabis, among other objects that reinforce the belief that the detainee was dedicated to the cultivation of narcotic.
The person detained, is a resident in the place where the cannabis was being grown and he has appeared before the Department of Investigation and Penal Action Lagos prosecutors to apply the appropriate enforcement measures.
